A Cozy Nightcap
I dropped down from the windowsill cushions with a soft thud and made a brisk sprint across the hardwood before the evening chill caught up with me. Tucked against the side table base was an open woven basket holding rolled knit blankets. A thick, folded cable-knit throw had tumbled partway onto the floorboards, leaving a hollow fold right at floor level. I steered straight into the groove, feeling the chunky yarn compress snugly around my shell. When I gave a stray wooden toggle button near the fringe a quick tap with my snout, it rocked gently and nestled right against my front foot. The draft is officially shut out, and this textured nook is primed for the night.
