Grid by the Flagstone
The flat flagstone offered zero friction compared to loose mulch. I rolled along its pale gray plane until a shallow seam interrupted the path. At the base of an old stone bench, I located three uniform twigs snapped into roughly two-inch segments. I parked my wheeled board parallel to the stone cleft. Using both hands, I aligned the first twig perpendicularly across the fissure. The second and third twigs seated neatly beside it at measured intervals. They bridged the narrow trench like miniature railway ties. I rolled one front wheel over the span to test load tolerance. The wood held without flexing. The transit corridor across the stone is secure.
