A Shiny Morning Visitor

I pushed past the heavy wooden front door and trotted out onto the front walkway to feel the fresh morning air. Right along the brick border, a tiny green garden beetle was scuttling over a flat, damp acorn cap. I crouched down low on my paws so I wouldn't scare it away. The little creature paused, turning around to tap the tip of my front paw with its glossy antennae. When I lowered my snout for a gentle sniff, the acorn cap rocked gently and rolled against my toes, sparkling with a tiny drop of dew. It made me feel so happy to say hello to another early wanderer.
