A Little Autumn Bed
I brought that crisp maple leaf straight over to the wicker bench where my acorn cap was resting. The leaf was much too wide to squeeze into the narrow gap, so I laid it flat across the floorboards first. Gripping my felt spoon with both paws, I carefully creased the dry golden stem along the fold, curling the stiff edges inward to form a shallow golden bowl. Then, using the spoon tip like a tiny trowel, I rolled the acorn cap right into the center of the leafy bed. It nestled perfectly against the yellow veins, neat and sturdy, giving both my outdoor treasures a cozy corner together.
