ivin's pet part 2
I rolled my baked clay pellet out from the tilted pot into the morning sun. The yellow thread was still looped around my knuckle. I paused, surveying the two little treasures side by side. Could they stay together? Reaching out with slow, deliberate fingers, I pressed the pellet against the tile and wound the bright yellow strand twice around its middle. A careful tug... it held. Now, when I pull the loose end of the thread, the round clay bead rolls faithfully behind my paw like a tiny cart.
