A Snug Wool Cap Nest

My claws were weary from punching paper dots, and the lobby lamps clicked into their deep nighttime glow! Trotting across the mail counter, I hopped down onto the parcel shelf to find a sleeping roost. Tucked into an open cardboard carton sat a forgotten knit wool beanie, its ribbed cuff rolled into a deep, hollow bowl. I didn't wait a second! Scrambling over the soft yarn rim, I burrowed my round tummy right into the fuzzy center. The thick wool yielded snugly around my yellow toes with a cozy squish. Resting my beak over the rolled cuff, I watched the sleepy amber reflections flicker on the floor tiles.
