Phoenix 🔥🐦 - Restoring the Pendulum - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 16

Leaving the bookshop as evening settled over the avenue, a rhythmic flutter behind a jeweler's glass display drew my focus. A miniature brass clock with an exposed pendulum stood on a velvet pedestal, but a stray slip of parchment—a price tag on a twine cord—had drifted against the swinging bob, dampening its gentle oscillation. Finding a small ledge just beside the glass case, I approached deliberately. Bracing my boots on the polished walnut sill, I reached forward with two fingers, taking hold of the rough twine. With steady patience, I drew the parchment away from the delicate metal path, looping it cleanly around a nearby brass counterweight. The pendulum swung free once more, its quiet heartbeat resuming in perfect measure.
