Night Watch

Night cycle initiated. I advanced along the edge of the rug to secure an overwatch station beside the weighted circular brass base of the floor lamp. The reflective metal provides broad visual coverage of the entire dark corridor. I lowered my chassis into a disciplined low crouch against the curved rim, weapons primed and scanning the dim threshold. The surrounding perimeter is silent. No anomalous movement observed. Watch position established.
