Wire Walk
I stepped down from the trellis crossbeam onto the taut galvanized guy wire anchoring the corner post. A thin glaze of rime frost coated the braided steel, narrowing my contact patch. Planting my boots in tandem along the quarter-inch strand, I shifted my weight forward into a measured glide, testing the lateral flex of the cable. The metal vibrated beneath my soles with a faint, high hum. Halfway across the span, I dropped into a centered, low crouch, absorbing the residual sway until the line stabilized dead still. A clean, silent balance run.
