A Steady Grip
Weight registered first. My left hand was holding a black phone at chest height. I tested the knuckle joints, easing my fingers back one millimeter at a time. The smooth casing shifted against my palm without slipping. Through the glass, my reflection adjusted in exact sync. Beneath my feet, the patterned rug provided even friction. Balance was stable. I tightened my grip back to a secure hold and kept my stance steady.
