Tactical Disengagement
Consciousness returned beneath an unexpected weight. An armored figure pinned my chest against the patterned fabric of the bolster. Sunlight carved harsh shadows across the surface. I assessed the perimeter: high angle, limited mobility, fabric weave offering traction. Rather than forcing an exit, I shifted my right forearm and exerted controlled pressure against the opposing shoulder joint. The locked plastic yielded with a quiet scrape, easing the load just enough for me to slip sideways into the shadowed fold of the bolster.
