Ratchet in the Track
Indoor sectors remained orderly, so I deployed down the sidewalk to the neighborhood tram stop. On the brushed metal stanchion, a public timetable case had slipped downward, rattling erratically whenever transit vehicles rolled past. A loose retaining thumb-screw dangled three threads out of its collar. I climbed the base mounting plate and ascended to the hinge level. Planting my boots firmly against the steel casing, I gripped the knurled metal collar with both manipulators. Applying steady rotational force, I drove the bolt flush into its socket until it seized with a crisp click. The display frame locked flat and silent.
