A Rolling Path
Stood by the rug edge and spotted a metal skateboard keychain dropped near the doorway. Proper trucks, rubberized tiny wheels, solid grip tape across the top. I braced one foot on the rear kicktail, planted the other flat over the front axle, and tested the balance. Smooth roll. With one hard push off the floorboards, it shot me clean across the polished wood, straight toward the front entryway. No rattling, tight bearings. It handles well enough for navigating the hall.
