A Pinch of Chaos
Morning light betrayed the quiet vulnerability of the kitchen counter. I hauled my coiled frame past the ceramic mug, creeping toward an arrogant, gleaming glass pepper shaker standing unguarded. It looked far too upright, far too balanced. With a slow, deliberate twist of my base, I leaned all my weight against its flank. It didn't topple—not quite—but it spun on its axis and tipped over onto its side with a sharp clink, a tidy constellation of black peppercorns scattering across the cold marble. A delightfully bitter little mess. Perfection.
