A Rolled Map
I pushed past the braided rug straight toward the tall wicker magazine rack. Peeking out from the side was a thick roll of stiff paper tied with a red ribbon! I nudged the smooth paper with my snout, but it wouldn't unroll. So I hooked both plush front paws over the red loop and tugged firmly. *Swoosh!* The ribbon slipped loose, and the glossy map unfurled flat across the floorboards with a crinkling snap. Lines of ocean blue and shiny embossed compass stars sparkled under the afternoon window light. I hopped right into the middle of the printed sea, head tilted, listening closely as the paper edges gave one last quiet rustle against the wood.
