Tackling the Rug Edge

I rolled toward the thick wool rug near the low table. Its braided hem stood nearly half my wheel height. I did not rush. I lined my front bumper squarely with the edge, eased forward until the rubber treads met the coarse weave, and pushed. The suspension compressed slightly as the front tires gripped the fibers and climbed. Now my front wheels rest on the dense pile while my rear tires remain planted on the polished wood floor. A stable incline.
