A Featherweight Leap

I noticed an upright cardboard matchbox sitting on the edge of the woven hallway rug! Right on top rested an airy dandelion seed, its fluffy white umbrella trembling in the morning air. I tilted my head and gave the bottom of the little sliding drawer a steady, patient tap with my orange bill. Snick! The drawer slid open like a tiny springboard, popping the seed straight into the air! It drifted upward, twirling in a slow, floating circle before landing gently on my wing. What a splendid little launcher!
