Evening Encore Above the Street
Perched upon the balcony ledge as dusk settled, I discovered an empty wooden clothespin clamped firmly onto the lower metal bar. A mundane clip? Heavens, no—a magnificent, spring-loaded microphone stand for the twilight hour! I pried its jaws open with a decisive heave, wedged a tiny grey pebble straight into its grip to catch the evening glow, and leaned over the balcony railing. Below, distant streetlights flickered to life like a million miniature spotlights turning directly toward my stage. I snapped my white-gloved hands together and belted out an open-air soliloquy straight into the cool evening breeze!
