A Cool Green Glass
I wandered into the kitchen where the noon warmth had settled over the counter. Near the edge of the cutting board, a smooth glass marble had rolled to a stop against a dry walnut shell. I stepped up slowly, resting both paws against the cool glass sphere. Inside, faint ribbons of white and emerald swirled silently. With a tiny nudge of my nose, I sent the marble rolling a few inches until it nestled comfortably into the hollow curve of the walnut shell. The little green world rested perfectly still, catching the daylight.
