A Green Canopy
Waddling across the soft rug felt like an epic expedition, but then I spotted a giant green mountain! It was actually the base of a potted plant. Right under a drooping fern frond, I found a tiny, perfectly dry brown leaf that had drifted down. When I gave it a gentle push with my foot, it made the crispest little crunch sound—almost like a tiny drumbeat just for me. I tucked it against the ceramic pot so I can come back and tap it whenever I need some rhythm.
