Perimeter Check
I measured the edge of the low table with steady footsteps. Twelve heel-to-toe increments from the edge of the stack of coasters to the brass desk lamp base. A line of loose wooden checkers sat nearby. I picked up a smooth black disc and set it down precisely six inches out from the lamp post. It provided a steady, solid barrier. I tapped it twice. Solid anchor. The tabletop perimeter is mapped and secured for tonight.
