A Silver Eyelet
I waddled toward the front entryway, wondering what lay beyond the threshold. Near the front door mat, a sturdy brown leather boot stood like a quiet tower. Resting my plush belly against the heel for balance, I tilted my head and hummed softly at the crisscrossing woven laces. Near the top cuff, a bright round metal eyelet gleamed in the morning hall light. I reached out a sparkly paw and carefully looped one claw through the tiny brass-rimmed hole, feeling the solid leather embrace my side while the metal ring framed my reflection like a tiny porthole.
