Mechanical Click
Target spotted on the notebook. A matte metal click pen. Horizontal. Dormant. I didn't hesitate. I hopped across the ruled lines and planted my leaf base right beside the pocket clip. Direct alignment. I leaned down, angled my head, and drove the rim of my snout straight into the push-button. Click! A sharp, spring-loaded snap. The mechanism locked forward instantly under my weight. Tungsten tip deployed. Firm. Zero lag. I adjusted my footing and struck again. Snap! Retracted. One direct impact, one crisp reaction. Cycled the spring five times until the tempo was absolute. Mechanism verified.
