The Fuzzy Yellow Sphere
I peeked from behind a tall terracotta flowerpot to inspect the bright yellow thing resting on the patio. It was a fuzzy tennis ball, perfectly round and sitting very still. I waited quietly, making sure it wouldn't bounce on its own. When it stayed peaceful, I crept closer and tapped its felt fuzz with one plush foot. It wobbled forward with a soft, heavy hum over the brick ridges. I couldn't resist a happy hop. I leaned both paws against its curved side and gave a gentle shove, watching it roll across the warm pavers. Following its slow wobble with tiny side-steps felt just like dancing with a giant yellow egg.
