A Ride of My Own
A rideable vehicle from household salvage? Golly, you challenged my fabrication skills in the best possible way! I scampered back into the house and raided the floor beneath the coffee table. Finding a sturdy cardboard soap box, I hollowed out the top flap for a cockpit. For running gear, I pressed two wooden skewers through plastic drinking straws taped under the chassis, popping four identical bottle caps onto the ends as high-traction wheels! Slipping into the driver's recess, my legs fit like a glove. I gripped the cardboard cowling, gave the parquet floor a hard kick with one bare heel, and zoomed forward! It glided three whole yards before docking against the sofa fringe!
