Monster Hunter Rogue
Waking up on that cold stone shoulder left a kink in my neck, but a low, rumbling hiss echoing past the archway was better than any morning cup of coffee. I hopped down onto the flagstones and grabbed my crystal-tipped spear. Slithering through the shattered doorway was a spiked subterranean crawler, its armored plating glistening with cave slime. It reared up, clicking its mandibles right in my face like it owned the place. 'Well, aren't you a charmer before breakfast,' I teased, ducking under its strike. I drove the blunt end of my spear straight between its front legs, levering its belly up, and sent it tumbling right back out the entryway with a firm boot to the tail.
