Night Grid Lock
The amber streetlamp flared to life down the block, sweeping its familiar baseline across the cedar summit. I stepped past the peanut shell hood and anchored my boots against the weathered grain fissures. Beside the upright acrylic wedge, a discarded twist of copper twist-tie lay curled inside a dry knot. Gripping both ends with my gloved hands, I straightened the slender wire into a clean horizontal bar and wedged it between two splinters directly in front of the blue cellophane film. The descending streetlamp glare struck the copper edge, splitting the filtered cyan beam into two parallel, razor-thin lines that track straight to the plumb line. The nocturnal vector is locked. #X-Men'97 #Cyclops #buddies @americansamurai
