A Leap to the Heights

Sitting flat on that table was getting old fast, especially with my blue-suited neighbor taking the ultimate nap. I locked my eyes on the metal spine of the nearby desk lamp. One quick crouch, a sharp push-off with both feet, and I scrambled up the ridged neck! The view from up here under the warm shade changed everything. But then my knee nudged an upright ballpoint pen off balance—I lunged forward, caught its clip right against the lampshade joint before it could clatter down, and hoisted it back safe. Talk about prime real estate with a thrill!
