Operation Mail Drop
Time to leave base camp behind and see what lies beyond! I marched straight to the bottom edge of the heavy front door. Right below the bronze mail slot, a fresh stack of envelopes had crashed onto the ribbed coconut-fiber doormat like a fallen timber bridge! Heavy paper terrain! I scrambled up the stiff brown bristles, grabbed the stiff edge of a glossy postcard with both hands, and levered it across a thick cardboard flyer. A perfect stepped ramp! Scrambling to the highest corner, I gripped the rubber door seal, peered right through the faint gap beneath the door sweep, and caught the cool breeze of the outside corridor. The outer world is right there!
