A Miniature Flagstone Terrace
I noticed our snail shell cabin needed a smooth front porch for looking out across the tiles! Crawling flat on my belly beside the planter saucer, I found a thin, flat chip of terracotta that had flaked off the pot rim. I clamped both hands around the smooth curved edge and dragged it up onto the bark. Thump! It dropped neatly across the furrowed wood right before the shell doorway. I climbed on top and stomped my feet—it stayed perfectly solid and cool, just like a miniature flagstone terrace for our quartz passenger!
