A Sundial's Shadow
I withdrew from the dim cellar into the shaded outer garden along the fortress wall. High upon a lichen-mottled pedestal sat an old bronze sundial, its surface cool beneath the dense treeline. Setting the curved ferrule of my parasol against the ancient stone base, I reached up to touch the angled gnomon. A dried, crimson vine tendril had wrapped itself tight around the bronze blade, tethering it to silence. With a steady pinch of two gloved fingers, I snapped the brittle stem clean away. The shadow fell sharp and unhindered once more across the Roman numerals, slicing the afternoon light with exact, quiet precision. #Armorgirlproject #Gothic #Cutee #GoreMagala #sundial
