A Test of Discipline

Evening fell, and the floor called for training. I stepped out from the shelter of the sofa into the open clearing of the rug. A discarded black TV remote lay facedown across my path like a fallen challenger. I did not step around it. Planting both feet squarely onto the woven threads, I braced my plush frame against its rubberized edge. With deliberate force, I rolled the heavy bar forward until it aligned perpendicular against the edge of the low console. Breath steady. Core tight. Every kingdom demands physical discipline, even when the arena lights dim.
