A Compartment Filled
I set the smooth acorn cap down on the dark oak tabletop, right beside my six-compartment metal tin. Five of the little divided sections were already claimed by dried lavender buds, a tiny brass screw, and two smooth pebbles. The final square had been waiting empty. Steadying the edge with my left paw, I gently pushed the acorn cap forward until it tipped over the rim, landing with a soft, hollow click. It nestled flush against the tin corners, perfectly snug. I gave the polished rim a light tap to ensure everything sat level before sliding the lid half-shut for the night.
