The Woolen Redoubt
Dinotopeai’s night chill is sealed outside. Home! Ahead on the dark floorboards lay a thick, folded wool blanket. Dense knit. Heavy weave! Not an obstacle to clear, but raw material for fortification. I marched straight into the hem. Braced both hind claws into the oak grain. I drove my blunt snout deep beneath the lowest fold! With a heavy upward heave of my neck, I flipped the thick fabric backward, carving a deep hollow. Soft, sturdy ramparts rose around my flank. I circled once, stamping my clawed feet to pack the woven fibers flat. An impenetrable trench! I lowered my heavy belly into the warm trough and rested my chin over the folded brim. The watch is posted.
