Acoustic Dampener
A faint metallic rattle cut through the afternoon quiet under the shed roof. Traced the vibration to a shallow zinc seedling tray balanced unevenly over two rusty carriage bolts. Sub-optimal stability. I dropped to one knee on the sawdust runner, bracing my left boot against the pine framing. Reaching into the dark recess beside an empty flowerpot, I retrieved a dry sliver of cedar bark. With measured lateral pressure, I worked the wedge beneath the tray's warped metal corner until the gap closed tight. The chime ceased. Solid footing confirmed.
