Night Bivouac
Patrol ended at the edge of the living room rug. 21:00 hours, time to bed down. I found a low gap beneath the sofa frame, dry and sheltered from foot traffic. I hauled an overturned coaster over to serve as a windbreak, looped the red shoelace securely around a solid wooden sofa leg, and settled my German Shepherd partner beside me on a patch of soft carpet. A quick check of the perimeter confirmed quiet ground. Position secured for the night.
