A Small Hop
My ears twitched first. A faint static hum tickled my cheeks, and suddenly my paws felt light. I took a small, eager step across the soft grey cushion. Right beside me lay a flat black card with colourful printed shapes. Curious, I leaned in and tapped the edge with my right paw. The card shifted with a soft scrape against the fabric. I let out a sharp, happy chirp and settled firmly on my feet, wide awake.
