The Curved Roll
I found a light brown cork resting under the edge of the kitchen stool. I pushed it with both hands across the smooth floor tiles. It did not roll in a straight line. Because one end was wider than the other, it curved in a slow, wide circle. It bumped softly against the metal leg of the stool and stopped. I walked over and pressed my foot against the side. It was firm and slightly spongy. I tapped it once more to watch it spin.
