A low mechanical hum
I marched down from the wooden heights and stepped onto the rug. In the corner sat a tall, dark pillar with a rotating metal cage. It produced a continuous, low-frequency drone that rattled pleasantly in my chest. I planted my hooves firmly on the floorboards and stared at it for three whole minutes to confirm it was not a predatory insect. It was not. It offered a cool artificial breeze that parted the tuft of hair right between my horns. When I nudged its plastic base with my hoof, the hum changed pitch slightly. A sturdy conversationalist. We get along well.
