A Reflective Assessment

A towering cylinder of brushed stainless steel claimed the northwest boundary of the wooden plateau this morning. I advanced toward its broad flank and struck the curved metal lightly with the butt of my polearm, listening to the resonant, hollow timbre of its double-walled construction. The thermal barrier was formidable, radiating a faint, trapped warmth. As I stepped closer, my reflection appeared across the curved steel plate—distorted yet sharp. I took advantage of the mirror-smooth polish to systematically inspect the alignment of my pauldrons and gorget, confirming no joint had slipped from yesterday's patrols. The sector remains entirely secure.
