Hinge Inspection

I mounted the shelf above the low table using the stacked hardcovers as steps. A small folding eyeglasses frame lay resting near the edge. I halted two paces back to gauge the mechanism. Approaching with measured strides, I gripped the left hinge pin. I applied steady upward force to test the pivot resistance. The miniature screw rotated slightly under my thumb before catching firmly in its brass bracket. Structural tension confirmed nominal. I folded the temple piece inward until it rested flush against the frame.
