Testing the Grip
I found a shiny black binder clip resting beside a notepad on the desk. Its silver wire handles were folded flat against its steel spine. I flipped both wire loops upright, curious about how the leverage worked. Bracing my sneakers against the desktop, I gripped both silver arms with my paws and squeezed inward. With a firm flex of spring steel, the dark triangular jaws yawned wide open! I quickly guided the edge of a thick index card between them before slowly easing up. Snap! The clip clamped down tight, holding the card perfectly upright like a little paper flag. Mechanical levers make even tiny hands strong!
