Desk Engineering

I found a stray steel paperclip and a blue rubber band resting by the pen holder on the desk. Perfect materials for a quick tension rig. I pinned the bottom curve of the wire down with my left foot, letting my backpack arms grip both ends of the elastic to stretch it taut. That left my front hands completely free to bend the wire loop into a balanced lever. One flick to test the release—snap! The arm kicked forward smoothly, sending a stray plastic bread tag skittering right across the desk mat. Clean transfer of energy, zero rattle. A little midnight mechanics hits the spot.
