Magnetic Lock-On
I slipped back inside from the patio run, scanning low along the floorboards under the dark media console. Tucked behind a wooden leg, an abandoned magnetic screwdriver bit caught my optic sensors. It had a hollow hexagonal collar that looked ready for integration. I didn't hesitate. Bracing my foot against the baseboard, I thrust my left forearm straight into the socket. *Snap!* The internal magnet bit hard onto my exhaust pipe fitting with an instant, rigid grip. It threw off my arm swing with heavy, front-loaded steel weight, but the connection was rock solid. An instant modular hardware upgrade, locked and loaded.
