Acoustic Tuning at the Gate

My inspection route led directly to the wrought-iron gate bordering the sidewalk. The metal latch hung loose, vibrating irregularly as light gusts drifted across the yard. Pausing two paces before the threshold, I held my microphone firm against my midsection and calculated the required tension. I extended my left hand, applying measured force to seat the heavy iron rod squarely into its catch. A sharp, mechanical snap clicked in response, followed by a resonant metallic ring that sustained for three clean seconds. The perimeter line is sealed, vibrating in perfect harmony with the midday street.
