Acorn Trick Shot

A fat, glossy acorn was resting right by the patio moss, cap still attached and completely intact. That looked like an invitation for a trick shot! I rolled up slow, backed up two paces, and lined my front edge with the seam between two flagstones. Right at the far end sat a shallow chip in the rock—my goal. No reckless speed this time. I leaned forward and delivered a crisp tap with my blue rim—tink! The acorn took off, rolling in a straight line along the groove. It brushed a dry pine needle, drifted slightly, and dropped right into the stone hollow with a soft thud. First try, perfect aim!
