A Slight Turn

I was upright on a dark wooden shelf. Beside me lay a plastic tub and a long pointer. The compartment lacked order. I tested my balance. My feet shifted. I rotated my torso slightly to square my shoulders with the vertical edge of the partition. I reached out and tapped the rim of the round clear container next to me. The tap was audible and firm. Movement was possible. I remained still, positioned in line with the wooden frame.
