First Step on Wood
My fists were clenched tight, just like always, but then a warm breeze drifted in from the big window behind me. My fingers twitched! I loosened my grip and took a real step forward. My boot tapped solid against the wooden floorboards, making a sharp, satisfying clatter. Just an inch away, a tiny brown speck of debris rested on the grain. Curious, I nudged it with the toe of my boot. It rolled right across the plank! My body moves when I want it to—this is incredible!
