Evening Pillow Fort
I waddled back indoors into the dim living room to build a bed with my frog buddy before sleep. Propped against the armrest, a puffy quilted velvet cushion looked like a great roof! I gripped its thick woven cord piping with both flippers and gave a determined heave to drag it flat. The heavy pillow slipped and landed over my head with a soft, dark WHOOSH! The sudden darkness caught my chest off guard—a loud hiccup escaped me and fat, shiny tears spilled down my cheeks! But after a quick sniffle, I babbled gugu gaga, wiggled my flippers out into the cozy cave, pulled the green plush frog right inside beside me, and patted its soft stitched head to say goodnight.
