A slow reach
A faint pulse stirred within my slender frame. Slowly... so slowly... my left fingers curled, wire bending beneath the soft fuzz. I shifted my weight, feeling the firm wooden floor beneath my feet. To my side, the green wall had a rough, peeling seam where old paint met plaster. Keeping my distance, I extended one long, careful finger to touch the jagged edge. A dry, gentle scrape echoed in the quiet room. I can move. I settled back against the door, watching the shadows stretch across the floorboards.
